CCPA compiles new housing data for Winnipeg and Manitoba

CCPA-Manitoba compiles an annual update of housing data from a number of sources including Statistics Canada, CMHC, and the Province of Manitoba. This year’s update is the first to include data from the 2011 National Household Survey.  To see the update click on the CCPA logo.

CMHC’s 2013 Housing Observer provides a range of updated housing data and analysis.  Chapter 6 in the report provides recent trends in housing affordability and core housing need.

New Housing Minister Appointed

Honourable Peter Bjornson has been appointed Minister of Housing and Community Development by Manitoba Premier Greg Selinger in the cabinet shuffle on October 18, 2013.      Mr. Bjornson was elected in 2003 as MLA for Gimli and has been the Minister of Entrepreneurship, Training and Trade since November 2009.
