A Place to Call Home: Homelessness in Winnipeg in 2011

The Social Planning Council of Winnipeg has compiled a brief report on people who don’t have a fixed address in Winnipeg. The report highlights what organizations are doing to provide a temporary place to stay and makes recommendations on what can be done to assist people experiencing homelessness. The Housing Market and Canada’s Economic Recovery

Federation of Canadian Municipalities’s report, The Housing Market and Canada’s Economic Recovery, is calling on the federal government to provide low-interest loans to finance new rental construction; reform the tax system to prevent the demolition of existing rental housing; and provide incentives to lower rental costs through better energy efficiency.
